ATLAS – Association for Tourism and Leisure Education and Research

ISAL is a member of ATLAS – Association for Tourism and Leisure Education and Research which has as objectives:

  • To promote education about tourism, leisure and related fields.
  • To encourage the exchange of staff and students between member institutions.
  • To promote articulation among professional entities in tourism, leisure and related areas and to articulate in terms of training, curriculum development and professional recognition of courses.
  • To promote transnational research that helps support the development of appropriate curricula for transnational education.

The Euromed Research Business Institute and NIISAL signed a protocol on December 19, 2013, to promote a relationship of mutual cooperation. On the whole, it aims at the exchange of experiences and knowledge within the areas of interest.

On October 24, 2013, a protocol was signed with the APOTEC – Portuguese Accountants Association. The protocol is based on mutual collaboration in the areas of interest and the intervention of both parties. The promotion of initiatives and the development of joint actions and studies is the main objective.

The Commercial and Industrial Association of Funchal (ACIF) and the Research Centre of the Higher Institute of Administration and Languages (NIISAL) signed on July 25, 2014, at ISAL’s facilities, a cooperation protocol in the field of research and studies for strategies in the area of tourism and business. This protocol is based on contributing with studies within the fields of management and tourism, developing partnerships with local entities and contributing to strategies in the field of management.
