Compliance, Conformity and Control Tools

Introduction

This line of research and area of coordination aims to achieve rigorous, comprehensive and flexible results in three scientific areas:

  • Compliance
  • Anti-corruption
  • Control Tools

The aim is to develop events and documents, such as academic articles to be published in scientific journals and academic newspapers related to the research areas.

The coordinator of this line is PhD Candidate Fabrizio Bon Vecchio.

BIOGRAPHY: Lawyer and financial manager, president of the Ibero-American Compliance Institute (IIAC), president of the National Commission on Compliance, Anti-Corruption and Economic Criminal Law of the Brazilian Association of Criminal Lawyers (ABRACRIM), president of the National Commission on Data Protection and New Technologies of the Brazilian Association of Lawyers (ABA), among various other roles in the legal field, as well as serving as president of the International Academy of Legal Letters (AINTERLJ), acting as head of the law firm Vecchio Sociedade de Advocacia.

In higher education, he has lectured on various subjects at universities, colleges and institutes in South America, Central America and Europe, and has been invited to teach at the most renowned educational institutions.

He is a research member of CISAL and has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications, as well as is a member of editorial and scientific committees for national and foreign publications. He is also a member of prominent international organisations.

He is currently attending a PhD in Public Law at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS) and in Legal Sciences at the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA). He has a degree in Financial Management and Law and has completed postgraduate courses in Coimbra, Maastricht and Brazil in Tax Law, Compliance, Digital Law and Constitutional Law, among others.

Mission

Develop an in-depth, up-to-date and methodological view of the field of Compliance and anti-corruption studies;

  • To enable the development, preparation and implementation of consistent research plans, in accordance with ethical and methodological standards, with the aim of generating contributions to the development of scientific knowledge in the field of Compliance;
  • To promote debate and foster scientific results with the dissemination of research findings in the international academic and scientific community;
  • To encourage students and researchers to seek autonomously and responsibly to advance the state of the art in the area of compliance and conformity.

Objectives

  • To develop a critical point of view in relation to the production and use of scientific knowledge, respecting the various lines of study in the field
  • To seek out and promote dissemination, publication in events aimed at spreading scientific knowledge among civil society, the public, private and third sectors
  • To promote the development of thematic lines related to the area of research
  • To ensure an increase in the specialisation of existing lines of research and encouraging the creation of new ones, attracting the international scientific community to the study and development of the culture of compliance.
